ROUTE06 and Mitsubishi Materials collaborate on the development of the E-Scrap exchange platform MEX

MEX will commence operation from December 20th as an online service serving as the gateway to Mitsubishi Materials’ E-Scrap exchange, which possesses the world’s largest acceptance and processing capacity. MEX is expected to promote the recycling of E-Scrap, which is known as an urban mine, and contribute to the expansion of Mitsubishi Materials’ metal recycling business globally. Note that this project is the first achievement of the Business DX in MMDX (Mitsubishi Materials Digital Business Transformation), the digitization strategy they pursue.

Startup ROUTE06 (ROUTE Six, Shibuya, Tokyo) worked with Sogo & Seibu to design a new type of store system that opened at the Seibu Shibuya store (Shibuya, Tokyo) that makes use of QR codes and artificial intelligence (AI) cameras and has no store staff to serve customers. The startup SIer (system integrator) aims to lead the digital transformation (DX) of the retail industry.

ROUTE06 and Mitsubishi Materials Collaborate to Develop E-Scrap Trading Platform "MEX"

"MEX" will begin operation on December 20 as an online service that will serve as a gateway to E-Scrap trading for Mitsubishi Materials, which has one of the world's largest receiving and processing capacities. It is expected to promote the recycling of E-Scrap, often referred to as "urban mines," and contribute to the global expansion of MMC's metals recycling business. This project marks the first major achievement of MMC’s Digitalization Strategy (MMDX: Mitsubishi Materials Digital Business Transformation), a key component of the company’s mid-term management strategy.
